holly berry tree
Karen Lockhart has quite a few spectacular winter holiday images - and I envisioned this Holly Berry Tree image in pearl, versus red, when I first saw it.
I told this to my friend Becky Oehlers who visited here last week (I was calm outside but squealing inside the whole time!!), and she said the same thing!
So I tried to re-create something with the same colors & feel - like this weath from Frontgate: ivory, champagne, and twinkles... ![]()
After stamping the berry tree onto white cardstock using Palette Noir ink, I colored and blended the urn.
Then added a shadow on the left and blended some more.
Colored the holly leaves that are hiding in the berries.
Then colored the berries randomly in champagne hues (easy peasy 'dotting' process - I spent more time blending than dotting).
To add some sparkle, a glue pen was used randomly on a select few berries, then sprinkled on some yummy prisma glitter.
Stamped sentiment (Papertrey Ink) onto white cardstock scrap and edged using a Krylon chisel tip marker. Then the whole thing was pushed into a glue pad then dunked into more prisma glitter (nod to Pine).
An oval shadow (A Muse) was added below the urn (using Lake Mist - Adirondack/Ranger), and Ranger's Matte Accents was added to the green holly leaves. Matte Accents is a dimensional glaze - just the glaze is matte (not shiny like their Glossy Accents).
I think I'm in love with glittah.... ![]()

This is beautiful Cindy! Love the more subtle coloring of the tree instead of red. Did you cut out the holly leaves? I clicked on the pictures to get a closer look and it really looks like you cut out the leaves and glued them on.
