Going for a modern look - mirrored bird is Heidi Swapp product from the stash.  Memory Box Jasper Leaves die in Bazzill Card Shoppe Juicy Pear and Easter Grass.  Finished card size:  4.25 x 5.5 inches.

How to safely mail a dimensional card such as this one:  corrugate cardstock in a coordinating color and adhere a layer of 3/16 inch bubble wrap to one side - this serves as the protective layer between the card front and the inside of the envelope.

A side note:  the Fiskars crimper will not corrugate Bazzill Card Shoppe cardstock well; cardstock is too thick for the hand-held tool to handle.  

Memory Box cardstock is ideal for crimping and better suited for this purpose.  Above is retired Gourd.  For a complete listing of current Memory Box cardstocks one can view their online catalog (page 79).

spring teacher & staff gifts; easter card

My kids helped me assemble these quick gifts for teachers and staff at school.  Clear two-inch square cubes are from clearbags.com, and the kraft shred is from nashvillewraps.com. Cadbury eggs, some circle printing in MS word and a biggie pearl brad.  

The nests were well-received and the kids came home smiling - not sure if it is was from giving these gifts or the fact they are officially on spring break...

One of the Easter cards I made this year - sentiment from Pink Petticoat; carrot and bunny eggs are Jolee's.  Memory Box cardstock base.

I devised the interior based on the card's exterior...a stretch, but I think cute nevertheless - hoppy spring!

farm girl butterfly cards

October Afternoon Farm Girl papers, Papertrey Ink kraft cardstock bases.  Finished card sizes:  each 5.5 x 4.25 inches.  A 5mm silver pearl embellishes each butterfly - Memory Box Finn and Delia butterfly dies used.

The clear-lidded box (nashvillewraps.com) that houses six cards and six clear envelopes, so the recipient (and postal carrier!) can view the lovely butterfly.  No matter what quantity of these I bring to the artisan market I sell out.  Last time I attended one lady purchased all four that I brought - and I enjoyed telling her the pretty papers and dies were all made here in the USA.

notebook and earrings gift set

October Afternoon Cakewalk gift ensemble - youngest daughter's friend Kayla (hence the initial k) is turning eleven - notebook and earrings pic...

Memory Box Heart Pocket die created the enclosure for a pair of earrings I quickly assembled using a few Swarovski and sterling silver products.  The birthday girl loves the color orange...so I obliged.

Close up of the notebook front.  Finished size of notebook is 5 x 8 inches.  Cute mini pom pom trim in white was machine-stitched into place.

Notebook base is Memory Box cardstock in Thistle.  

Was a good day at the gym this morning - looking forward to warmer weather though - it was eight (Farenheit) this morning.  Miss being able to run the hills in my area.  

Those that know me know I do not watch television - at all.  This evening I am going to view my first episode of Downton Abbey, thanks to my mother loaning season one and two on dvd to us - everyone says it is a wonderful series.  Happy Friday!

basic grey serenade - more flowers

Some of the flowers that come with the Basic Grey Serenade Colossal kit are canvas and others are paper.  I assembled and layered them here, then created today's boxed gift card medley with some of them - finished card sizes are 4.25 x 5.5 inches - Memory Box Eggshell card bases and envelopes.

This medley is what one of my customers calls the 'Cindy Special' - one sympathy, one birthday, one thank you and one blank.

Clear-lidded box is from nashvillewraps.com.  Large Serenade flower on clear box top was further embellished with two doilies - the bottom doily was sprayed with Icebox Sprinklers and the wool felt (Papertrey Ink) leaves were machine-stitched to mimic veining.  An additional doily was adhered to the lid underside to disguise the adhesive.  Happy Monday - off to the gym!

basic grey serenade...oh the flowers

I put together only two colossal Basic Grey Serenade kits - in each of these kits there is a package of paper flowers and canvas flowers.  

Card base uses Spellbinders grand scallop circles and the flags and banners from the kit. Finished size is five inches in diameter.

Card interior - Papertrey Ink stamps and banner die.

The photo above shows the entire package of Serenade flowers used - one on the notebook, five others at the top left (created most these based on the product packaging photo), and two machine-stitched card fronts using up the little extras.

Notebook uses a Zva vine, 7gypsies tissue paper, butterfly pins and crochet/velvet ribbon.

Flower center is from Jolee's.  

Notebook interior - another flower used on the interior pocket, as well as two Memory Box dies (Pocket Gift Tag and Perfect Gift Card) - makes a nifty pocket for post-it notes once the recipient has removed the gift card.  Finished notebook measures 5 x 8 inches when closed.

and baby makes four

Neighbor had a second baby - found this idea and adapted it to commence with the dad, mom and three-year-old, ending with the three plus new baby.  Orla Kiely wrapping paper, Memory Box Thistle cardstock.

Michaels frame - was black in color, and scratched.  Sanded then spray painted with a Krylon brushed silver metallic paint.  Happy Hump Day!

customized cards

Customizable cards are today's project - I did this before here, and today's project is a gift as well. This set is being sent to the kind Frontgate rep that handled the giveaway a while back.

Papertrey small butterfly die cut from felt, smallest butterfly is a Martha punch.  October Afternoon Woodland Park papers used and English doilies.  Gray Divine Twine.  Gina K Luxury cardstock bases - finished card sizes measure 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inches.  Butterflies are stitched to the doily, then the unit was adhered to the card front.

Spellbinders label die cuts, stamped with various Papertrey sentiments (Autumn Abundance set) are housed in a mini bag with directions.  On each sentiment label obverse a strip of Glue Lines was placed, and the clear, protective layer was left in place.  This way, the recipient simply selects a sentiment, then adheres as needed.  Thanks for stopping by today!
