sympathy inchie card with cork leaves

Inchie cork sympathy 2

(edited to add:  thin cork sheets are from creativeimpressions.com)

Oh, sympathy cards.  I make these when I'm in a somber mood, and I had a sheet of thin cork laying out where I stamp and one thing led to another.  I really liked how the thick, black Inchie Squares set off the cork color, and the airy quality of the cork punches.

New Neutral Inchie Notes were punched with Martha's border punch and lined with punched Licorice cardstock.

(above punch is from Family Treasures) I found the center of the Inchie Note was found quickly by using Tim's Design Ruler.  Tim's ruler features a centering ruler, allowing one to locate the center of an item quickly.

Inchie cork sympathy 3

A cork leaf was punched using Martha's frond punch, then mounted onto a Black Inchie Square using mini Glue Dots.  A mini pearl was added as an accent.  Sentiment is from Wordsworth.

(The sympathy card featured in the first photo at the top of this post, center, uses Martha's rose leaf punch.)

Interior sentiment and feather are both from Wordsworth.  All images were stamped using Ranger's Archival Ink in Jet Black.  I'm undecided as to whether I prefer the Black Inchie Square as a diamond or as a square for these cards - I like both...it's like asking if I'd rather have chocolate or peanut butter - both is better!

butterfly get well inchie card

Butterfly inchie 6

Today's Inchie project features Lockhart Stamp Company's Itty Bitty Butterfly and October Afternoon's newest Farm Fresh papers.

Butterfly inchie 1

The Lockhart butterfly was stamped twice - once onto the October Afternoon paper (Chicken Coop used here) and once onto a white Inchie Square.  Lockhart's Itty Bitty Rose Border was stamped (all ink is Memento Rich Cocoa) onto the white Inchie Square, then colored with Copic Spica markers in Melon and Sky Blue.  Butterfly image was cut out of the Chicken Coop paper.

Butterfly inchie 2

To make the butterfly 'pop', I used a foam dimensional (from Jody's store) cut into pieces, and a Mini Glue Dot, so once the trimmed butterfly piece was mounted...

Butterfly inchie 3

...it would look like this - wings fluttering outward and body flush with the Inchie Square.  Bling from Ellen was added to the head and wings.

Butterfly inchie 5

Nestablilities Labels #1 with the back of Chicken Coop paper made a nifty mat for the layered Inchie Square.  May Arts Eggshell satin ribbon and a 7gypsies photo turn were added as accents.

Butterfly inchie 4

This style card could be used for almost any occasion - I needed a get well for a dear friend and this Wordsworth sentiment is one of my favorites.  The Memory Box (Gourd used) card base and coordinating envelope make this card appear professional.  Thanks for stopping by for Inchie Thursday! pumpkin inchie

Smiley from millan.net
Pumpkins galore!  Out here in the 'country' part of New Jersey, where we often have more deer than humans, some of the local farms have beautiful gourds and amazing pumpkins for sale.  I created today's project thinking of a 'country' theme...

Inchie halloween 6

I paired Basic Grey's Eerie 6x6 cardstock with new Neurals Inchie Squares and Neutrals Inchie Notes.

Inchie halloween 1

The Lockhart Itty Bitty Pumpkin and Leaf Border were stamped onto a Neutral Inchie Square using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The Pumpkin was stamped again onto Papertrey Ink white cardstock, colored with the above Copic markers, then cut out.

The white outer edges were too harsh next to the neutral Inchie...

Inchie halloween 3

...so I colored the pumpkin edges with Copic E02.  Mounted with a foam dimensional piece.

Inchie halloween 5

Halloween sentiment is from Papertrey Ink, 3/16" black and orange gingham ribbon, Spellbinders tags, Spellbinders labels #1, Memory Box Sage cardstock.

I'm off to the grocery store on a quest for those Reeses pumpkins!! Smiley from millan.net

catch the love

Inchie umbrella 3

Today's Inchie post features a 3-1/2" square card with Karen Lockhart's Itty Bitty Umbrella

The 7gypsies 6x6 Reef decorative paper was not pieced - this strip is actually a piece of their patterned paper that I quickly machine stitched right down the lines of the paper design.

Inchie umbrella 1

Lockhart Stamp Company's Itty Bitty Umbrella was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a White Inchie Square.  Umbrella image was stamped again onto the Reef paper, then cut out and adhered to the Inchie Square.  Handle and shadowing were done with Copic markers.

The Inchie Square was matted with more Reef paper and Memory Box Iris cut from a square scalloped Nestabilities.

Matted Inchie Squares create an instant, layered embellishment due to their 1mm thickness.

Inchie umbrella 2

Card base is one from the peach/pink Inchie Notes selection.  The wonderful sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.  Heart bling fills the umbrella, and an onyx bling sets the umbrella tip.  Envelope was quickly lined to add some more lovin' to this card.

Inchie umbrella 4

Card interior is a snippet of 7gypsies Reef paper and a Rosie's Roadshow sentiment.

inchie 'schrooms

Schrooms 2
Lockhart's Itty Bitty Mushrooms are paired with colorful Basic Grey's June Bug papers for today's Inchie project!

We've had so much rain this summer here in NJ, the mushrooms were out in full force this summer - but much to my disappointment, no uberkewl red-with-sparkley-yellow-dots like these though... Millan.net

Licorice cardstock was cut with a small Nestabilities Lables Five die, then ran the die through a Spellbinders Impressabilities - Paisley.

Schrooms 1

Memory Box Brandywine Flourish was stamped with Archival Ink in Jet Black over the decorative papers - card base is an Inchie Note covered with two June Bug 6x6 papers - aren't these papers fun?  I used Post-It notes to mask off the parts of the flourish I didn't want to use/see.

Schrooms
Lockhart's Mushrooms were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a white Inchie Square, then colored with Copic Markers.  The dots are a Lemon Spica pen.  Added two June Bug Glazed Brads.

Schrooms 4
Card interior is a lovely A Muse sentiment, and more June Bug papers with a Nesties scalloped circle die keep this fun paper in view on the inside.

life is sweeter

Sweet 3
Today's layout is from Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge - WSC #95

Lockhart Stamp Company's Itty Bitty Jar of Berries was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a white Inchie Square. Inchie Squares are the highest grade Alphamat Artcare matboard.  Sold in convenient boxes of 1" squares, 72 per box.  Inchie Squares are archival and are about one millimeter thick, creating an instant embellishment with dimension.

Sweet 1
The berries became gumballs for this card, and used Copic Spica glitter pens to color.  The white Inchie Square was matted onto Licorice cardstock.

Sweet 2
Life is Sweeter sentiment is from Hero Arts Clear Design - Friends.  Memory Box Presto Flourish was stamped with Adirondack Willow ink, and also stamped with embossing ink onto Currant cardstock then heat set.  Sentiment was cut and embossed with Nestabilites Circle dies.  Patterned paper - We R Memory Keepers Nonsense.

pair of inchie pears

Inchie pear 2
Today's project is a quick and cute Inchie Note anniversary card.  Card utilizes one of the 3-1/2" square Inchie Notecards from a pack of peach/pink, a Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Border and Pendant

Lockhart Stamp Company IB Pears were stamped twice onto a white Inchie Square using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and once more onto 7gypsies Catania (on sale).  Pear on the French script paper was cut out and adhered over a stamped pear on the stamped Inchie Square.  Copic markers colored and shadowed both pears, and a clear bling embellishment was added.

Inchie pear 1
The Fleur de Lis Pendant was cut from Memory Box Peach Fuzz cardstock, and the envelope was lined with a swatch of Catania paper.

What a Pair! sentiment is from Rosie's Roadshow.

snail mail inchies and Val's notecard box

Inchie snail 2

My dear friend, Val Stangle, developed an incredible gift box, which you can view directions for on her blog.  I was so excited when she revealed this, as it creates an ideal gift solution for those folks that are difficult to find something for!

I also incorporated Michelle Wooderson-style single-sided notecard concept.

Inchie snail 1

I began by stamping Lockhart's IB Escargot image onto Nestabilities white cardstock Pinked Circles using Rich Cocoa Memento ink, coloring with Copic markers and matting them with a Parsley cardstock (Memory Box) circle.  A celery brad takes up some of the white space and adds interest.

Inchie snail 3

The gift box was created using Webster's Pages - Make A Wish, and I used this decorative paper in strips to the single-sided notecards.  Begonia (Memory Box) cardstock strips were trimmed using a Martha Stewart border punch.  Notecards measure 4-1/4" x 5-1/2".  Color coordinating Begonia envelopes create a professional look and feel.  The 'snail mail' (A Muse stamp) tag on the notecard box was created using Spellbinders Tags, a Copic airbrush system and Copic R20 marker, and celery silk ribbon.

Inchie snail 4

Notecards were constructed using a white cardstock base measuring 4-1/8" x 5-3/8", lining with a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Mocha (Memory Box) cardstock.  Snail Mail sentiment (A Muse) was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink.  I think I will be keeping these!  hee...

ingredients:  Lockhart Stamp Company IB Escargot; Memory Box cardstocks (Begonia envelopes; Begonia, Mocha and Parsley cardstocks used); Memento ink pads; Martha Stewart border punches, complete line of Nestabilities dies and all related accessories; Copic markers and all related accessories including airbrush equipment - Ellen Hutson; Webster's Pages papers, silk ribbon spools, brads - StarLitStudio; white cardstock - Papertrey Ink.

violet inchie trilogy

Violet inchie 5

The Inchie post for today uses portions of a stamp for a unique triple design with Inchie Squares.

Violet inchie 1

Three White Inchie Squares were stamped with Black Soot Distress ink (approximate five minute dry time) using various portions of Lockhart's Violet Cupcake image; clear embossing powder was heat set over the images.

Violet inchie 2

Images were colored using Copic markers.

Violet inchie 3

Each Inchie Square was matted with Memory Box Licorice cardstock.  The Inchie Squares above depict the sequential application of Copic color, beginning with the lightest and ending with the darkest tones.

Violet inchie 4

Finished card.  Card base measures 6-1/4" x 4-1/2", and consists of white Papertrey ink cardstock, 7gypsies 6x6 papers, Memory Box Blueberry cardstock trimmed with a Martha Stewart border punch.  Thinking of you sentiment is from A Muse.

graduation celebration card

Grad card 6
What a whirlwind of a month June has been.  Moving my mom out of the family estate into a quaint retirement village, wrapping up school (here in NJ our last day was yesterday) and all the teacher gifts that event entails, and my house projects here have consumed immense time.

It was Graduation Day for many friends and family as well, which leads me to today's project.

I was involved with paper quilling years ago, and used a quilling accessory, called a Fringer, for today's graduation card.

Grad card 1
I fed a thin strip of black cardstock into the Fringer, then sliced the cardstock at even intervals by depressing the lever repeatedly.

Grad card 2
The fringed cardstock was wound and glued around a section of black linen thread.  A 1/16" hole was punched into the center of a Black Inchie Square.

Grad card 3
The black linen thread holding the fringed cardstock was inserted through the hole in the Inchie Square, followed by a black brad.  I trimmed the black linen thread flush with the base of the tassel.

Grad card 4

Onto another Black Inchie Square, I drew a quick branch with a chocolate Copic Spica pen.  Cute puffy owl stickers are from a Borders Book Store.

Grad card 5

A Cranberry cardstock scallop square was mounted with foam tape onto a 4-3/4" square Licorice card base.  Two White Inchie Squares were stamped with Papertrey Ink sentiments.  Oh and I used a mini glue dot to hold the tassel in place.

ingredients:  Memory Box cardstocks (Licorice, Cranberry used); Ranger Archival Ink pad; Inchie squares and products; complete line of Nestabilities dies and all related accessories; Copic markers and all related accessories including airbrush equipment and glitter pens used for today's project - Ellen Hutson; brads, linen thread - StarLitStudio
