The kids' school year is drawing to a close here in the Northeast - today's project is for our bus driver. Dimensional bus is a Jolee's from the stash. 9 to 5 papers used with red Divine Twine. This is a Val Stangle layout; Paper Smooches sentiment.
I gather a monetary collection from the neighborhood families and created the card with bag pocket to house the cash. Teacher gifts tomorrow - hope you're having a great week!
Card interior was done in MS Word, and I lined a Papertrey envelope, cuz they have a die for that. Hint hint hint, Memory Box. Finished card sizes are 4-1/4-inches x 5-1/2-inches.
A Martha Stewart 'today's tip' email gave me the push - I've been meaning to label all the shut-off valves in the basement and adapted the materials used in the Martha email to items I had on hand. Printed out two labels per tag (one for each side) on a printer then mounted to a tag.
Used 3mm ball and chain and a connector and hung them in their respective spots. Feels good to finally get this done. Happy Friday!
Used a PaperCrafts layout for today's project. Zva taupe pearl - Lovely style. Vintage sheet music is from my stash (thank you ebay), and the red silk ribbon is from Creative Impressions - we used to sell these by the spool, and I've used so much silk ribbon lately I am considering carrying those spools again. They were economical as well if I remember correctly.
Sentiments are from Paper Smooches and patterned paper is October Afternoon's Farmhouse. The antennae are flower stamens; butterfly and card base dies are Spellbinders.
Spellbinders Grand Nesties are great for card bases - I use (some of) these with my Big Shot Express. I will not purchase another die cut machine until Sizzix comes out with a 12-inch wide electric version that is compact for the home crafter. I don't care about the price point - just make it electric please. One can dream, eh? Happy Monday!
My dear children are in the process of writing their holiday thank you notes to aunts, uncles and dear friends - three individual notes per recipient...I wanted to come up with something clever to house their notes in.
Using Paper Smooches Swanky Snowdudes set, a snowman image was stamped several times onto white cardstock, each colored with Copics then each cut out. Sentiment is from the Chit Chat set. The label-style die is from Papertrey Ink.
Using a notebook paper bag I folded down the top two inches, then covered the flap with patterned paper and trimmed.
A Big Bite tool punched the holes and set the eyelets for the clasp. Fine red burlap string was inserted through one of the punched holes prior to setting the eyelet to hold the string in place.
The notecards for the kids' thank yous are simply white cardstock trimmed to fit the bag, embellished with a strip of Holly Jolly patterned paper and a quote strip from the Holiday Style Word Stickers. I may add black Enamel Accents (Ranger) to his buttons - we'll see how much time allows...hope you're having a great weekend!
I received my Paper Smooches club order yesterday and oh these are the cutest stamps...Kim has outdone herself this month with some adorable images and sentiments!
Turtle was stamped five times - once on white cardstock and shadowed with Copic markers - the base, next onto white cardstock and colored with Copics and cut out - adhered with foam tape to the base. Image was stamped three more times onto Sidewalks 8x8 paper pad scraps, cutting the shell portion out and piecing onto the white cardstock cut-out.
Die cut window uses Spellbinders Labels 18. Card base measures 4-7/8" square in Memory Box Peony - fits a 5" square envelope. The adorable sentiment is part of this set - it's called Party Posse. The interior sentiments are from this set as well. Hope you are having a great week!
Used leftover strips of Boarding Pass patterned papers and a few from the Miscellany pack to create a thank you note from my son.
Andrew has dyspraxia, and as a result the scale of his handwriting is very large. He can not write a thank you like your or I could using the space confinements of a standard greeting card...instead, I had him write his note on a piece of notebook paper, folded it up and sent that with the card...
The mini bag is serving as an interior pocket for his thank you. The chipboard plane was dyed with Aged Mahogany Distress Stain. Interior sentiment is from Paper Smooches Word Salad set - I adore this set.
All corners of the card were notched with an 1/8-inch Corner Chomper - love the professional look this rounder gives card corners. Card base is Memory Box Bayou. Hope you're having a great week!
Spellbinders dies and a Sizzix Rosette; Memory Box Bling. Card base is Memory Box Robin's Egg and measures 5 inches by 7 inches. Thank you for stopping by today!
Card inside uses Paper Smooches sentiments (Pretty Phrases & Sentiment Sampler); punched cardstock strip is a Spellbinders die. Envelope and card inside feature scraps from the 5 & Dime Shape Stickers. Happy Friday and thank you for stopping by today!
