valentine cards

Memory Box dies: LaRue and Grand Hearts, Studio Calico wood word (My Type), Adage Ticket, Doodlebug mini pop rose, 6x6 Lovebirds patterned paper, clear heart from stash.  Standard 4.25 x 5.5 inch finished size.  'bliss' was stained using Fired Brick Distress Stain then smeared with Diamond Stickles.

Card interior - one of Quietfire's newest sentiments.

Although I am not a fan of Valentine's Day between adults; I am, however, a huge fan of the holiday for kids and for their wonderful teachers.  I have been prepping teacher and school staff gifts geared toward the holiday, and have a few cards that were commissioned by neighbors that you see here today.

I did make my wonderful husband a card but can't take a chance that he won't see it here, so it shall remain a secret. ;)

Memory Box grapevine wreath die, Doodlebug pearl heart bling and mini pop; paper is from last year and I used it all up and can't remember the manufacturer...suffering from CRS it appears.

Memory Box Resting Birds (more in stock soon) cut from thin burgundy velveteen, Silverdale and Cupid heart dies, A Muse sentiment.  This paper is the same #$^@ manufacturer that I can't remember...Fabriano card base - hey I remembered that.

Interior uses Memory Box Cream Puff Heart die & A Muse sentiment.

Owl Heart Set - Distress inks used on the tree; I know I'll be using these adorable owls on cards down the road.  Finished size - I think it was 5.25 inches square.

anniversary card

Today's project uses a Quietfire sentiment and flourish stamp designed to coordinate with Spellbinders labels one (used the new spellbinders decorative labels one dies as well on kraft cardstock - inked with Distress Walnut Stain before removing die).  English doily, black crochet ribbon.

Patterned paper is Bazzill Basics 6x6 in Kraft.  Pearl bling is from Zva 5mm Taupe.

Card base is Gina K Luxury Kraft; interior sentiment is from Penny Black and a Martha punch was used on the Bazzill striped strip.  Handmade envelope (feeding my addiction...) is an old sheet of Graphic 45.  Finished card measures five inches square.  Best wishes for a great week!

Quietfire sentiment used for today's project - an anniversary card.  6x6 Bazzill Basics in Kraft used along with a Martha corner punch.

English doily, Want2Scrap pearl bling around a Spellbinders label die.  Bazzill Peanut Cluster used for the thin, centered, notched cardstock strip (Papertrey die).

Computer generated interior sentiment; Martha border punch on the card interior.  Yeppers another handmade envelope (Graphic 45 paper) - finished card measures five inches square.  Thanks for stopping by today!

quietfire anniversary card

Another anniversary card - inspired by Andrea Ewen's card; size is 4.75 inches square.  Used Spellbinders labels 18 and their teardrop circles die.  Quietfire sentiment, silver Liquid Pearls.

Patterned paper is Bazzill Timeless 6x6.  Handmade envelope; idea-ology timepieces and game spinners.  Labels die was sponged (with die in place) using Vintage Photo and Antique Linen Distress inks, then flicked with water, allow to sit for a few seconds, then blot dry with a clean paper towel. Happy Friday! (envelope paper is retired 7gypsies).

Inspiration for today's project was derived from a previous notebook.  Sizzix bird die, Spellbinders label die, want2scrap bling, idea-ology foilage, regal adornments & game spinners, and a Quietfire verse. 

Patterned papers are October Afternoon Hometown.  The vertical olive caterpillar (chenile) ribbon is May Arts; rose leaves are retired Primas (wish they made these still - quite versatile).  Square woodgrain paper piece and ledger paper on bird (and notebook interior) are from 9 to 5.  

Simple interior - this notebook is an eco-friendly compostion one from Staples.  Happy Monday and best wishes for a great week!

sympathy card

I utilized this layout inspired by Becca to create today's project.  Quietfire sentiment.

Lockhart Stamp Company Spring Tulips used, and Distress inks (Walnut Stain and Antique Linen) were sponged over die cuts with dies still in place. Spellbinders dies; Zva 2mm pearls; May Arts flower ribbon and Wright's lace (dyed quickly with brewed coffee); Farmhouse patterned paper; Memory Box Thistle cardstock base.  Ink for Lockhart stamp is Color Box Chalk in Prussian Blue (second generation).

Setiment is a discontinued rub-on from MSE.

Finished card size:  5-inches x 7-inches.  Happy Hump Day!

fabric leaf notepads

These were fun to create - lots of different textiles used...burlap from etsy, Bittersweet string, text and fine wale corduroy fabrics from fabric.com.  The Sizzix leaf die is Tattered Leaves. 

The interior features another fabric leaf, whimsically stitched into place, and a stamped sentiment from Quietfire.  This step is actually done first...as the interior stitching leaves the notebook surface looking like this:

...this, however, is concealed with an embellished kraft panel - like a card front mounted onto a card base.

Once the scallop leaf patterned paper and light green gingham check ribbon were stitched to the kraft panel, the burlap and leaf layers were also stitched into place.  The button and bittersweet string were then added.  Then the unit/panel was adhered to the notebook.  I felt stitching these pieces down to a panel first made for a quality piece. 

Mother-of-pearl button from grlyhead on etsy.  Wide gingham ribbon is from May Arts.  Lots of machine stitching on the notebook front.  Patterned leaf paper, lined notepad and 'just a little note' sentiment are from Papertrey Ink.  Tiny text used on 'just a little note' is Memory Box E453 using Walnut Stain Distress ink.  Spellbinders labels die, inked with an ink blending tool with die in place using Antique Linen Distress ink.  I really like the texture on these.

pretty notepads - they feed my soul

As long as I can remember, I have always been in love with pretty stationary, paper, stickers, kewl pens, pencils, and especially notepads.  There's something about being able to make them that feeds my soul.

I left the Spellbinders label die in place and applied Antique Linen Distress ink using an ink blending tool.

I used a layer of matboard and patterned paper and die cut both, adhered together, then applied Walnut Stain Distress ink to the edges.

The notebook is a simple, eco-friendly compostion one from staples.com.  I love this verse; more notebooks to follow tomorrow.

grunge gears birthday card

Quietfire sentiment - stamped on a piece of white cardstock burnished with Antique Linen and Walnut Ink Distress inks.  Patterned paper is Idea-ology Retro Grunge.  Card base is from Memory Box.

Gadget Gears die from Sizzix - diecuts were cut from white cardstock and inked with Distress inks.  Phillips and flat head style brads source is unknown.

Interior sentiments are from Papertrey Ink.  Best wishes for a great weekend!

5 & dime birthday

Playing with October Afternoon's 5 & Dime collection and a MFT rolled flower die. I've been wanting to try paper pleating since seeing Amy Rohl's Splitcoast tutorial.

Mother of pearl vintage buttons were purchased from grlyhead on etsy.  Paper lace border is a Martha punch, pearls are Zva, and the flower lace is Wrights.  The jumbo metal rimmed tag was highlighted with a punched wagon image from Root Beer Barrels (5 & Dime). 

The cute birthday sentiment is from Quietfire and the ribbon is white seam binding.  Thank you for stopping by today!
