My friend Mishie posed a challenge to create a few spring Inchies, and the whimsical organic carrots was the first image I plucked!
For the other ladies and their beautiful blogs that participated in this challenge, please click on their names to see their inchies!! Michelle Wooderson, Trudee Sauer, Debbie Olson and Sharon Harnist. If time allows please leave comments so we know what you think of Inchies Art! I'd love to see what you create!!

For this card, I had a sketch in my Inchie Idea notebook. I'll post the notebook this coming week. I'm a lefty, so all my notebooks are backwards! LOL!!

Doesn't it seem like all good (and sometimes bad) things come in threes!!!??!!! For this card I cut three one-inch squares from white cardstock (Neenah Solar White) and stamped partial 'snapshots' of the Lockhart organic carrots image using Palette pad Noir Black.
Using my handmade Copic color chart and the patterned paper (Stampin' Up) I chose the colors to use for the stamped images.
I have a new marker - it is BV31c - you can see it on the far right in the materials used photo above. This stands for BV31 custom. I ordered a plain Copic Sketch blending pen, then placed 12 or so drops of BV31 refill into the plain blender pen. This enables me to blend out the harsh line created when I outline stamped images using the BV31 marker. This idea and directions were kindly given to me by Debbie Olson. Thank you Debbie!

To create a fast and natural shading effect around stamped images, I completely outline the image with BV31. Then I go back with the BV31c marker and 'fade out' the edge. It softens it and makes it look much more natural. I'll provide a mini tutorial on this in a few days.
After I colored the Inchies, I mounted the squares using pop-up Glue Dots onto Water Memory Box cardstock then onto Licorice cardstock. I also used Water as the card base.
I love Memory Box cardstock specifically because I make a lot of cards, and one side of their cardstock is white. This allows me the option of a dark card base but the card inside is white and pristine.
I punched 1/8" holes (I used a Big Bite but you could use an anywhere hole punch too) in the card front through all layers, positioning them just behind where the trilogy of carrot squares would sit. This enabled the holes that the ribbon is threaded through to be hidden on the card front!

Card interior features a small strip of the patterned paper, a muted color of the central image, stamped over a 'happy birthday' sentiment.
Yesterday's post was typed after I ate four Reeses. I apologize if I seemed tipsy, but chocolate seems to have that effect on me...even more so late at night. :)
Hope your weekend was delightful & fun filled! Thanking you for stopping by, cindy
