Some of you know my mother-in-law passed away a few weeks ago from breast cancer. We flew down right away to make the arrangements (she elected not to do anything ahead of time) and for the viewing & funeral.
When making the arrangments, after selecting the casket, we were given a selection of standard, thank you cards to choose from.
After seeing those cards that were going to represent my mother-in-law, I voiced my request to be allowed to make her thank you cards in her honor. I had two weeks open in my work que and I knew I could get them done.
Even before my sister-in-law and husband said yes and they were OK with it I had this design in my head. Working on the layout mentally was a good distraction for fighting tears.
Sorry that this is kinda a sad thread, but I really like how these cards turned out, and my sister-in-law did too.
The white cardstock (solar white-Neenah) was run through my printer, and I arranged the printed verse so I could print two cards per sheet of cardstock. Scored the whole sheet then cut them in half. This was a super time saving technique.
This layout is an adaptation of a Valerie Stangle layout.
stamps: Papertrey Ink
ink: Adirondack Espresso
paper: Papertrey Ink white cardstock; Crate (retired?) patterned paper, Memory Box Vanilla Bean cardstock
accessories: Prima flowers, gold brads, eggshell ribbon, marvy punches (papertrey ink), krylon 18kt gold marker
Thanking you for stopping by, and I will make sure my next post is a happier one!
