Father's Day is a few more weeks away - but I wanted to share this idea with you today.
A few weekends ago over dinner out my husband and I enjoyed a bottle of Renwood Wine (California). The cork was left at our table, and I found it very stimulating artistically. I brought the cork home and left it where I stamp/create to further inspire me.
Renwood Winery's slogan is 'dedicated to the art'. I found that inspiring too!
To create this masculine Fathers' Day card, I used Lockhart's Striped Lighthouse, and re-created the feeling the stamped cork gave me. I stamped the Lockhart Lighthouse onto a thin cork sheet (Michaels) using Ranger's Archival ink (jet black) and tore around the stamped image.
Using a large DMD white tag (size of tag: about 3" x 6") that had been stained with a walnut ink mixture (and ironed flat) I collaged a few masculine-styled 7gypsies papers, then mounted the stamped cork piece using Tim's Long Fasteners (brads). I was able to adhere the cork securely, as Tim's new Fasteners feature super-long shanks, which allow quasi-thick elements such as this stamped cork unit to be adhered to cardstock quickly and easily.
I finished up the collaged tag with a few more of Tim's new hardware elements (Philosophy Tags, Swivel Clips and Jumprings). The tag was then adhered to a large Fabriano card - Album-Folded style (Father's Day sentiment - Papertrey).
Thank you for stopping by and allowing me to share my source of inspiration for this project!! :)
