Happy Thursday everyone!! Ellen Hutson presented the Lockhart slippers in this card that I fell in love with a while back, and the sole (ha ha ha - sorry 'bout the pun...) reason I bought this slippers image years ago.
I've been itching to use some new piercing templates that I bought from Ellen, and I decided to use a Fabriano album-style card for my base.
The Fabriano Album Style card is a fairly large card - measures around 4-1/2" x 6-1/2", and the fold is along the 4-1/2" side (the top of this card pictured). With the nice heft of the Fabriano and the larger size the end result is both the look and feel of pure quality. :-)
How I made this card: Stamped Lockhart slippers image twice onto Memory Box Aerial patterned paper. Cut out the full pair of slippers image plus the slipper toes, then adhered the cutout of the toes on top of the slippers cutout. You can see in this pic to the right how I used the different printed areas one piece of patterned paper for this.
Adhered pearl accents to the pierced area along with the toes of the slippers! Love these accents! The pieced slippers were mounted to the card front with foam dimensionals.
Adhered small section of patterned cardstock to Fabriano card base, and concealed edge with May Arts ribbon (3/8" olive sheer, stitched edge). The seam of the ribbon is hidden by a double mat of Nestabilities die cuts featuring a partial sentiment. I used the Petite Oval and Petite Oval Scallops.
Lockhart sentiment of '...get comfy, rest and get better...' was partially stamped on a scrap piece of Fabriano, and the remainer of the sentiment stamped on the card inside (you can see the card inside on the materials photo - second photo from the top of this post). Pen details were added with a Copic black .03mm black pen.
Thank you for stopping by!! Also, the hankie with the tatted edge in the top photo - I was taught how to tat about 20 years ago by my former neighbor, Ms. Connie Barone. I created this hankie for my mother-in-law about 18 years ago, and with her passing it has come back to me. :-)
