School is still in session here in NJ - we are not out until the latter part of June! But, we start in early September.
The new Bliss chocolates from Hersheys are absolutely divine - I can fit 18 into one of these adorable new Ball jars (available at Wal-Mart, Target or even grocery stores). Quickly decorate the lid and these are good to go! I originally saw this style Ball jar gift idea from my friend, Michelle Yager (MY).
Using Marvy's 3" scallop punch I punched out a scalloped circle from Tres Jolie paper (eclecticpaperie.com) , and stamped the gorgeous Lockhart Sun Flower image once onto white cardstock and once onto the Tres Jolie paper. I cut out the watering can from the patterned paper, and using Copic markers colored in the Sun Flower image on the white cardstock.
Note: I outlined the watering can with a mustard marker, just in case I cut the patterned watering can too close. This Lockhart image is incredibly fast to color, and versatile - perfect for a teacher's gift!.
After coloring in the flowers I used a Marvy 2" circle punch and punched out the Sun Flower image. Adhered both this layer and the patterned scallop circle layer to the Ball jar lid.
To detail the watering can further, I used the two shown Copic markers to add shadowing to the patterned paper cutout - love how this turned out! My hope is that once the chocolate is gone the recipient can re-use the container for office supplies or other small items needing organization.
The lid band is a strip of 1/2" x 11" piece of Memory Box Mango cardstock, stamped repeatedly with 'for a special teacher' (A Muse) in black ink.
Hope this inspires you for other gift ideas and many thanks for stopping by!!
souces: Copic markers, Memory Box and Neenah cardstocks, plus the versatile and fabulous Lockhart Stamp Company line - www.ellenhutson.com. I recommend purchasing an extra bag of the Bliss chocolates. They tend to quickly evaporate while crafting. :D
