Hope you are having a great Sunday! Today's post uses one of my favorite Valerie Stangle layouts.
This card uses my friend Val's layout from her Valentine's Day card. I had out the piercing materials from the Get Well card (post below), so I opted to use it on this one too - piercing paper is addictive! :)
To create the card base, I ran a strip of white cardstock through the Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder - this texture on white soooo reminds me of babies!
The strip was not quite long enough for the whole card front, so I cut it in half to conserve paper (see pic below).
Lockhart clothesline was stamped onto Neenah Solar White cardstock, then Joy sentiment (A Muse) in black (Palette Noir pad). Pierced a line of dots using one of Ellen's templates. I stamped the Lockhart clothesline again onto a piece of white cardstock scrap. The scrap piece was colored in using Copic markers.
To add depth to the 3-D baby clothes, I outlined the images on the large white cardstock piece (the uncolored piece) with a pale grey Copic marker. Added two shiny silver brads to the clothesline ends.
Even though the baby clothes images are small, the lines are very easy to cut out. This created a card that looks time consuming but really is not. Bits of foam dimensionals were used to 'pop' the colored cut out baby clothing.
A bit of news: Karen Lockhart is releasing fabulous new images, including many for Inchies! The new images can be viewed on the Lockhart Stamp Company website and purchased at Ellen's Store.
Thank you for stopping by and hope you have a great week!!
