'Birthdays are like quilts, stitched together one year at a time.' This is such a beautiful sentiment from Nichole Heady at Papertrey Ink.
I purchased their two sets stamp featuring quilting, and the sayings are so sentimental and heart-touching. I paired one with Lockhart Stamp Company's Quilt Block 3 - it's a variation of a Flying Geese Quilt pattern I believe. This idea originated from my friend Michelle Wooderson.
I wanted to transmit a feeling to this card - one of softness and gentleness - like a grandma.
7gypsies papers were used on a 3-7/8" x 9-1/4" ivory cardstock base - it is tall! This card fits neatly into a standard #10 envelope.
Next, stamped the Lockhart quilt in Palette Noir ink then colored in quickly using markers, then layered onto a few layers of cardstock using foam dimensionals. The Louis paper was sponged using Distress Antique Linen and layered it over Victoria paper. A snippet of Louis was added with a small length of celery and light blue Vivee's Braid from Beaux Regards Ribbons near the card bottom.
The layered quilt embellishment was added plus a few buttons.
The card inside uses a layered punched flower from scraps, plus a piece of brown leaves ribbon (it's actually white that had been spritzed with Adirondack Color Wash Espresso. Happy Birthday sentiment is also Papertrey Ink.
Thank you for stopping by on this last day of September!
