Thanks go out to Michelle Wooderson for this awesome gift idea! You can see Mish's post/original idea here and I wanted to share how I used her brilliant idea.
I'm calling these the 'Quarter Card Gift', cuz each notecard uses a quarter piece of cardstock.
Using a quarter sheet of cardstock per card, then adding 2" strips of Making Memories Fresh Anthology scraps I assembled a gift for a teacher last week that took very little time but had a tremendous 'wow' factor.
A 1-1/2" circle punch (Marvy) was stamped with the adorable Lockhart IB Snail image & quickly colored with markers. Added the Lockhart 'snail mail' verse, then layered this over a scallop (SU) punch with MM Anthology papers, then stapled ribbon snippets (May Arts) just like Mish did.
I created the scallop unit first, stapling the ribbon into place, then adhered to the quarter card base so the staple would not show. Added envelopes and a clear lidded gift box (Nashville Wraps #SB738).
I needed these fast, so I omitted the additional layer under the white cardstock. These were fast and fun and I'll definitely be making more - thanks again Mish!!
I had my hair cut today - six inches chopped off. I didn't get a headache today either - maybe the weight of the hair (or hair accessories?) were contributing. Or the drier weather here in the Northeast. This is a pic of my six-year old Abbie and the new do, and a few below I took outside... the leaves are just starting to turn - this is my absolute favorite time of the year.
Thursday's Inchie post will be tomorrow!
