I have eighteen teacher holiday gifts to make !
With three children in school, plus all the wonderful school aides in each classroom, my son's occupational therapist, his speech therapist, plus the school nurse, the principal and the three school secretaries, yup it adds up to eighteen. I opted to create candy bags based on Jennifer McGuire's candy bag video.
Jennifer's gift bags use a 12x12 piece of cardstock. I used double-sided cardstock quality patterned paper from October Afternoon to speed the process. You can get three bags out of one sheet of 12x12.
Pattern is super easy - cut cardstock to 4" x 12", then score at 4", 6" and again at 10". If you are like me and need to make a bunch, score the 12x12 piece of cardstock first, then cut apart at the 4" intervals.
Add a decorative band if time permits, then seal shut & punch hole, just like Jennifer shows in her video tutorial. I'm using Andes Peppermint Crunch candies - they are incredibly YUMMMMY!!!
The Inchies were created using White Inchie Squares, stamped the Lockhart IB Wreath image using a Palette Noir pad.
I colored the wreaths using three colors of green Copic markers, as shown above. Base of YG00, following by hints of YG23, then a smidge of G99.
Color the bow with Copics YR31 and YR24, then shade whole image using BV31. Using a Ranger white gel pen hightlight existing dots in the wreath image. Three red blinggies (is that a word?) were added per wreath.
Adhere Inchies to Licorice Memory Box cardstock punched with a Marvy square scallop punch, then adhere unit to front of candy gift bag.
Thank you all for your kind words about my little first grader Abbie. Abbie is better today, and I was going to keep her home today...but we are having an ice storm here in NJ and school was cancelled! Yippie!! Time for hot chocolate!
