Today's post was inspired by Anna Wight - if you have not seen her crystal snowflakes (here's a link to the one that inspired this card) they are amazing - full of sparkle, yet they possess a vintage look and feel to them!! Perfection!!
This link is Anna's tutorial for creating her crystal snowflakes.
For today's card, I used antique silver vintage glass glitter. If you want a chunkier look like Anna's snowflakes, I'd use a chunkier glass glitter like Krystallos Vintage Shards Glass Glitter from Art Institute Glitter, and Matte Accents just like Anna used.
A finer grade of glass glitter will result in finer detailing in the snowflake. I love both looks - these are enjoyable and speedy to make!
The large brad was distressed using a Tim Holtz Texture Hammer, and Vanilla Bean cardstock was punched with a pine needle punch (McGill) then the punched pieces were randomly edged with a Ranger white gel pen to mimic snow.
Using a Dill cardstock base the Lockhart Cranberry and Popcorn tree was repetitively stamped with embossing ink (Versamark, etc.) then heat embossed using clear embossing powder. A layer of Cosmo Cricket paper adorns the top of the card front; May Arts ribbon.
The peace, love, joy sentiment is from Memory Box, and a 7gypsies mini paper clip helps to anchor the distressed cardstock strip.
This is a second card I wanted to share using the same Lockhart Christmas Tree image: Stamped image with Pine Needles Distress pad, then heat embossed using clear embossing powder.
Layered first color quickly using Copic marker YG00.
Layered second color quickly using Copic marker YG23, then added bling!
