potted lavender

Today's project features Lockhart Stamp Company's Patio Lavender image, and I've incorporated some airy vellum to the card to give a summer feel to it.

The ribbon is called Vivee's Braid, is imported from France, and was machine-stitched to the embossed cardstock layer.

This is a plot of lavender outside the pool fence, not far from the clothesline.  I'd love to have a field of lavender smack dab under my clothesline.  Imagine how good the sheets would smell!

Card interior sentiment is a rub-on from 7gypsies's Thank You Rubbings.  The envelopes were stamped with Memento London Fog ink.

quilt house inchie

With images of cute houses popping up everywhere I came up with a 'quilt house' using Papertrey Ink's Quilter's Sampler set.  The image was stamped onto an ivory Inchie Square.  The quality and depth of the Inchie Square sets the focal point for the card, and these squares are simply a dream to color on with Copics.

Card interior uses scraps of cardstock from the card front:  October Afternoon's Fly a Kite.  Card base and matching envelope is Memory Box Endive.

The roof was cut from a piece of thin cork, and mounted with a foam dimensional.  Thanks for stopping by today!

girlfriend gifts

Some quick gifts for girlfriends I'll be seeing at CHA today.  I found these cute Toblerone mini candies at my local grocery store - 33 calories each - yum!  Altoid tins, October Afternoon Thrift Shop paper, and the brads are a brad kit thinggie from Chatterbox.  Twill ribbon is from Martha Stewart, and the sentiment is from Alli Miles's set for Papertrey Ink called Take Three Summer.  Hope you are having a great week!

cheery cherries

My friend Val designed a notecard box that I used for today's project.  I paired Lockhart Stamp Company's Cherries in Colander image with some Cherry Hill papers from October Afternoon.

I used these Copics to color in the Lockhart Cherries image.  It is a very fun and quick image to color, and goes so nicely with these papers.

 

Here's a closeup.  I used red caterpillar/chenille ribbon to further yum-it-up.

Six single-sided notecards are included, along with envelopes.  I stamped the cherries image on the envelopes using Memento London Fog ink.  Thanks for stopping by today!

inchie birdies

I created these four cards to use up a length of blue velvet ribbon I had on my desk.  The birdies in Papertrey's Take Three - Summer set are some of my favorite bird images!  

Envelopes are stamped with Color Box Chalk Azurite.

I stamped the birdie image with Versamark onto a scrap of ivory cardstock (I stamped five in case I messed up on one).

 

Then stippled on Perfect Pearls Perfect Gold.  I cut these apart and did not round the edges, opting instead to mount tiny, Memory Box Sparkling Diamond bling in each corner.  The pearlized image was adhered onto a vellum cardstock mat...

...then mounted onto these!  These are black Twinchie Squares that have been run through a die cut machine using a Papertrey In Bloom impression plate.  These matboard squares are a solid black hue throughout, and took the impression plate beautifully.  I think they make quite a little statement piece for these tiny cards, and I love how some nice texture was achieved.

Memory Box Deep Lagoon bling was added to each birdie's belly.  A black brad holds the ribbon in place on the right, and the Twinchie Square unit is mounted with foam dimensionals to give the velvet ribbon room underneath.

Interior and card front sentiments are from A Muse.  Birdie image is stamped on an Inchie Arts Neutrals card base using Versamark ink.

man cards...tim style

These are a few cards I created for my stash to Operation Write Home (blinkie lower right side of this blog).  I geared these two cards toward the masculine side, incorporating a bunch of hardware on each.

Those cute metal eyeglasses are vintage 7gypsies I found buried in the bottom of a tin.  Sure wish they still made these.  Patterned paper is retired Tim Holtz.  Memory Box Flourish and Clearsnap wheel (name of wheel is 'say what?').

swimsuit season

This new Bathing Suits image from Lockhart Stamp Company is meant for piecing!  All three bathing suits are on one stamp, and for today's project I paired it with some October Afternoon Fly a Kite papers.

The striped ribbon is Strano 5/8" Madge, and the big brad is from a Chatterbox Brad Maker kit.

To begin I used a Nestabilities big scalloped rectangle, and attached the stamped image using foam dimensionals.  The suits are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto ivory cardstock cut with a Nestabilities small rectangle, then outlined the images with Copic W1 for shadowing.

The suits were stamped again onto white (Papertrey) cardstock and colored with Copic markers.  The flowers on the blue suit were highlighted with the clear Spica pen.

The suits were cut out, and foam dimensionals were added to the stamped ivory cardstock.  The suits were far easier to cut out than they look.

I added Hero Arts tiny flower bling to two of the suits.

Card front and interior sentiments are from A Muse.  Card base and coordinating envelope are Memory Box Lagoon.  The bathing suits on the card interior were stamped with Memento London Fog ink, and a leftover strip of October Afternoon paper added some color. 

Finished card size is 5" x 4-1/4".  A half-inch was removed from the standard 5-1/2" card width to accommodate the ribbon on the side.  Thank you for stopping by today!

stylish inchie card

I combined Papertrey's Take Three - Summer set with a white Inchie+ Square for today's project.  The card base is Inchie Arts' Inchie Notes in Yellow/Green.

 

I inked the PTI stamp with Versamark ink, then stamped the white Inchie+ Square.  Heat set white embossing powder then colored with Copic markers.

The patterned paper is Hometown - KM Building from October Afternoon.  A little loop of Strano 3/8" ribbon is appropriately called Miss Scarlet.  The bit of sparkle on the flower blossoms is from a Copic Clear Spica pen.

The mini stapler is Tim's Tiny Attacher.

distress inked mosaic

 

Stampers Anonymous Artful Mosaic (P2-636) was used in conjunction with Tim Holtz's Distress Inks for today's project!   This rather masculine-themed birthday card was fun and easy to create.

I began by stamping the mosaic image six times (there are 13 squares in the mosaic, and I'm thinking roughly two squares per color) using Ranger Archival Ink in Jet Black onto Papertrey white cardstock.

Next, using an ink blending tool I applied Distress Inks to each of the six stamped images:  clockwise from 11 o'clock:  Tumbled Glass, Victorian Velvet, Stormy Sky, Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, and in the middle:  Crushed Olive edged with Forest Moss.  Yummy!

I 'Finished', or completely inked, only one of the six pieces of cardstock (the green one).  The other five will be cut up and pieced to the 'finished' cardstock unit.

This method will create several cards - to do so simply 'finish' more stamped cardstock units as needed and have fun piecing!

Close-up of the finished card.  Using a silver Krylon Leafing pen, which has a nice chisel tip, it allowed me to quickly and easily edge seven of the colored squares.  I omitted the silver edge on the five center/middle squares and mounted them instead with foam dimensionals.

A Tim Holtz keyhole was mounted over the stamped keyhole image, using the included mini-fasteners, and I added a vintage reproduction key to the upper left corner using Glossy Accents.

 Interior sentiment, as well as the card front one, is from Impress.  7gypsies patterned paper adds a bit of interest to the large card interior.  Card base is Memory Box Gourd.  Finished card size:  A10 business size - 9-1/4" x 4".  Thank you for stopping by today!
