quietfire anniversary card

Another anniversary card - inspired by Andrea Ewen's card; size is 4.75 inches square.  Used Spellbinders labels 18 and their teardrop circles die.  Quietfire sentiment, silver Liquid Pearls.

Patterned paper is Bazzill Timeless 6x6.  Handmade envelope; idea-ology timepieces and game spinners.  Labels die was sponged (with die in place) using Vintage Photo and Antique Linen Distress inks, then flicked with water, allow to sit for a few seconds, then blot dry with a clean paper towel. Happy Friday! (envelope paper is retired 7gypsies).

Inspired by a Kristina card - I used Spellbinders big scallop circle dies and clear acetate to create this anniversary card.  Epiphany Crafts' heart button punch and some handy linen thread.  Papers and sticker are from Woodland Park.

Card size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, and I created a custom envelope.  Thanks for stopping by!

woodland park circle flip card

Still playing with this Sizzix circle-flip die - October Afternoon's Woodland Park papers and chipboard pieces (butterfly) used, along with Memory Box/Poppystamps Carousel Bird Cage and Meadow Leaf dies.  Zva crystal flourish and Divine Twine in Lemon.

Interior sentiment is from Papertrey Ink, and the Spellbinders scalloped rectangle (the long ones) was sponged lightly with Peeled Paint Distress ink.  Thinking about getting this flip die in the fancy frame style. Thanks for stopping by!

bird's nest birthday

Shaped card using Spellbinders grand scallops - card size is about 4.5 inches square.

 Birdie's nest is from Prima and leaves are 7gypsies velvet; sentiment is from A Muse.  Patterned papers are Avalon (Bazzill).  Card hinge is hidden, explained here.

Card interior features an A Muse sentiment and a Memory Box bird.

Envelope for this card - required a one-inch depth to accommodate the nest.  Used Memory Box Water cardstock for the custom envelope, and crafted a 'tray' from Bazzill Avalon.

The tray helps to support the entire envelope, so pressure applied to the envelope will be evenly distributed, and not crush inward around the nest.  Hope your Tuesday is going great!

Today's project is another Sizzix circle flip-its die (inspired by Kristina).  Finished card size is about 5-inches square.

Hurricane stemware image is from A Muse, and I used Martha Stewart Golden Beryl glitter and Glossy Accents to bling it up.

Interior sentiment is from Rosie's Roadshow.  White gel pen used for faux-stitching (another head nod to JulieHRR) and the adorable patterned paper is Bazzill Avalon.  The floating punched pieces are leftover from the Memory Box Quatrefoil die; pieces are sandwiched between two pieces of vellum.  Happy Monday!

 

flip-style card

Today's project uses a Sizzix circle flip-its die and was inspired by Kristina.  Finished card size is about 5-inches square.

These types of swing/flip cards are pretty easy to create using a bone folder/ruler/scoring board and scissors/x-acto blade, albeit slightly time-consuming.  This die is a tremedous time-saver for me, as I don't always have the time to spend making one of these from scratch.  I have no excuse now - ha.

labels 25 shaped card

Used Spellbinders labels 25 and some want2scrap pearl bling - inspired by Chupa's card!

Card base was created by folding a piece of cardstock in half and running through with the long, top part of the largest die in this set set slightly off of the fold.  A good video showcasing this here, starting at 3:01 - her hinge is on the side, the hinge for my project is at the top.  To conceal the hinge, using the same color cardstock as the shaped card base, I diecut a unit using (again) the largest one in the set, and simply adhered it to the card front.  

Flower is from Prima; sentiment is from A Muse.  Solid cardstock colors are from Bazzill Card Shoppe (Easter Grass and Lollipop) and the adorable patterned paper is Bazzill's Avalon 6x6 multipack.

Pretty pink ribbon is a new crochet from May Arts.  

To ship this type of card with depth/dimension, I created a simple, tube-style envelope with a piece of sheet music, and will mail the unit housed inside a bubble envelope.  Thanks for looking!

9 to 5 tags on cards

The focal point on today's card was created using an extra-small white tag, and layering punched scraps and strips of October Afternoon's 9 to 5 papers, then machine sewing all together.  A small, paper-covered brad (using an i-top tool) was added after the stitching.

Finished card size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

I made a bunch of cards in this vein...and even stuck one of the tags in my front door knocker last week.  Divine Twine color is aqua.  Branches embossing folder is from Basic Gray (for sizzix).

Solid cardstocks used: Distress Collection from Core'dinations.

Boxed them neatly for gift-giving!  Decorative band features a magnetic closure (these are shipping from Basic Grey hopefully next week).  Clear-lidded box is from nashvillewraps.com.  Jeepers this month is zooming by!

another seaside card

I've had these tiny shells for over a decade...and finally used some of them - bought them from magicscraps.com back in the late 1990's.  

Layout is inspired by Monika from yesterday's projects.

Inserted the shells into a Ranger Memory Capsule, then cut a piece of decorative paper to 2-inches square and mounted it onto an Twinchie.  Inserted all into a two-inch square Ranger Memory Frame.

Paper is Tim Coffey for K & Company, and the silver starfish brad is an ancient Making Memories one (from Michaels Craft Store).  

Card size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches, and the envelope is a custom-made one with a one-half inch depth to accomodate the dimensional embellishments on the card front.  Hope your Tuesday is going well!

seaside cards & clothing sizes

Been busy - the store received a shipment of poppystamps dies and October Afternoon's Woodland Park - can not wait to get busy with it.  Kids' school does not start back until September - yes, I crave that schedule and operate well with it, but at the same time, enjoying the lazy, hazy days of summertime.  Hope your summer is going well!

For today's projects I channeled Monika Wright - I adore her style of tags, doilies and scraps.

Using Tim Coffey for K & Company papers and embellishments.  Pristine white tags are from DMD and called 'extra-small...they look just plain small to me; oh well; clothing manufacturers did this with our clothing sizes too - what was a size 8 is now a size 4...and yes I have skirts from 1993 to prove this 'conspiracy' ... ha.  The doilies are the English ones.  The bottom scrap strip is burlap.  

Card sizes are 5.5 x 4.25 inches, and the kraft card bases are Gina K's Pure Luxury Kraft.

Envelopes were custom created giving me the half-inch depth required for these dimensional cards. 

So is it just me, or what was a size 8 fifteen years ago now a four?
