MSE! sympathy stamps - no more rub-ons

Many, many years ago the above sentiments were only available from My Sentiments Exactly in the form of handy rub-ons.  About two or three years ago they were suddenly no longer available to order.  I missed them - their best feature was there was a sentiment for the card exterior as well as interior, and the fonts were classic and subdued - exactly what I have felt a sympathy card should be.

Well the folks at MSE! have made these wonderful sentiments available in clear stamp form!  Here are a few blasts from my creative past when just the rub-ons were available.  Thanks MSE!

welcome baby cards

This card on Lucy's blog spoke to me - immediately envisioned the Poppystamps Woodlawn Fawn (the one that comes with a scarf) used for this version.  The deer die cuts were cut from Bazzill Card Shoppe Butter Mints cardstock, then inked up with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink and an ink blending tool.  Here's one for a boy:

The thin, silk ribbons around the necks of the deer are from my stash as are the ribbons running up the side of each card front.  Sentiment: Papertrey - ink used: Archival Potting Soil. The patterned cardstock is from Memory Box Bicotti purchased at Ellen's shop a long time ago.  Paint splatter is Pumice Stone Distress Ink on very wet paintbrush and tapped onto Bazzill white textured cardstock.  Hope your weekend is going well!

end of year teacher gifts

October Afternoon's latest Public Library collection was used for the kids' end-of-year teachers' gifts:

3x3 Post-it notepads with each teacher's name in the label holder (font: Peoni Pro; font color is a warm brown).  Card catalog fronts were adhered with foam tape for dimension.  Thanks for stopping by!

directions for post-it notebooks: cover two, 3-1/4 inch square chipboard pieces with cardstock.  Cut one, 6-5/8 strip of cardstock for linings and spine - score at 3-1/8 and 3-1/2 inches.  Adhere strip to covered chipboard squares using scor-tape.
