These slimline cards each measure 3-1/2 inches wide and 8-1/2 inches in height. I create gusseted, 'button and string style' envelopes for these cards, using the beautiful papers from the collection. I love this particular style of envelope and am considering doing a blog post focusing on them.
I use standard #9 envelopes if the slimline card is less dimensional than these cards. Envelopes.com carries my preferred press and seal style closure in this size.
The background for the card on the left was created with a Stampers Anonymous Stone stencil and a very light application of Pumice Stone Oxide ink. This idea is from a card my friend Carol sent me.
The background for the card on the right used Stampers Anonymous Pressed Foliage rubber stamp set and a variety of Archival inks: Pebble Beach, Sepia and Tree Branch.
Assembled pine cones, sisal, die-cuts, stickers and other components from the P13 The Four Seasons - Autumn paper collection. P13 is a Polish company and the papers are a superior caliber, which produces a quality product. Chipboard pieces from Wycinanka; mulberry flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. Both companies are also located in Poland - they ship worldwide. Wax seals - made using Vintage Peonies seal by Artisaire. I create multiples using a non-stick mat. These slimline cards are meant to either be hand-delivered, or shipped with a gift.
Machine sewing, small metal tags, feathers, pale pink seam binding ribbon. The spiky microbead stems - these were from Little Birdie in India. I tried to order more but it appears they have been discontinued. I will have to make my own. The berry die cut is the Bud Leaves craft die from ModaScrap.
Interior showcases more paper from this beautiful collection; sentiment is from Memory Box - Harvest Love and Kindness clear stamp set.
I often begin the process of creating cards by fussy-cutting any elements that come with the paper collection. For P13 products, these elements are located on the inside of the front and back 12x12 paper pad covers. I listen to a podcast or beautiful music - it is time consuming to do this, but so worthwhile to have them ready to use once the creative process begins. I used some of these elements on a third slimline card shown below.
The above card was sold today, and the one with the acorn is gone as well.
Below is a very short video made for etsy, showing the dimensional details of one of the cards in this post. Having my hand in the video gives immediate reference to someone that does not know the size of a slimline card. (The time constraints of the video are set by etsy.)
Autumn is just around the corner - thank you for stopping by today!
